TRX is a suspension training product, conceived by a former navy seal as a means to train and exercise anywhere. With the success of the original product, training centers and support material, the company went the next step and wanted to create a product specifically for military use. The new product would have to meet different criteria in order to be as successful as the existing product line.
Designer & Production Artist on a team of 3 designers with one Creative Director
Create a TRX training kit for military use that including the main product, user manual and exercise pamphlets while also withstand frequent use and various weather conditions. While design, production and manufacturing of the new product was underway, we would also have to combat the marketing aspect at the same time. This would include military specific (army, navy and marine) photography of the product and the product in use.
After securing an accomplished photographer, the design team set out for the Marin Headlands for a three day photoshoot to establish the "look" of the new product before design/production would begin. My role included wardrobe selection, model selection and photo continuity. Once the photoshoot was in post production we began researching materials for the user manual to ensure durability without sacrificing visual design. Manual visual designs and product diagrams for the manufacturer were my next task as well as logo placement on the TRX itself.
The new product and exercise photography helped in creating a cohesive user manual that was easy to use on the go with multiple options for various situations without fear of damaging the product or support materials. All materials used were weather and tear proof and the TRX FORCE itself utilized new materials and was easily distinguishable from the original TRX.
